Here is a list of the questions that I just asked a customer, and her answers:
Ally: "Are you of any Hispanic or Latino heritage?"
Caller: "What does that mean?"
Ally: "...Are you of any Hispanic...or Latino...heritage?"
Caller: "I don't understand."
I explained what it meant to be of any kind of Hispanic or Latino heritage, and eventually, we figured out she was a white chick xD
Ally: "And what is the highest level of education you've received?"
Caller: "What?"
Ally: "You know...what was the highest grade you made it to?"
Caller: "Uhhhhhhhhh...like, when I quit school?"
Ally: "That'll do."
*headdesk*
Ally: "And this question is personal in nature, so you can skip it if you want, but do you consider yourself to be: A, heterosexual or straight? B, gay or lesbian? C, bisexual?
Caller: "I have a
husband."
Ally: "...A, B, or C?" ***
Caller: "What was the first one?"
Ally: "Heterosexual or straight."
Caller: "I guess straight, not heterowhatever. I like men."
*** Sometimes people say "I'm
normal" (doesn't that just piss you off?), which has caused me to act dumb if they say
anything but A, B, or C.
There was more, but typing this up made me want to curl up in the fetal position and weep.
