Isn't it weird how you can have so much in common with someone on the internet and yet want nothing to do with them? I'm not talking about anyone in particular (at least, not anyone reading this) but that's the kind of thing that comes up when I'm trawling for new icons. "Wow! We have so many interests in common! Whoa whoa whoa, [person] ships...Weir/Caldwell and Ichigo/Sasuke? My BRAIN."

And then I wail and sob in a corner, and then I hate the internet, etc. Then I go and make a post on my livejournal about how hard my life is. xD

Here's a funny story:

Last week on some popular networking website, I scandalised the internet. I admitted that I had no idea what a Vulcan was. The only things I knew about Star Trek could be found in the lyrics of Voltaire's Banned on Vulcan album.

Before anyone explodes in confusion and despair, it might help to know that up until 2005 I was culturally dead. Seriously dead. It's taking a lot of time to catch up to a lifetime of delicious nerd fare.

Oh yeah for the record, I know what a Vulcan is now. I also know that I'd bang one (a particular one) in a freakin' heartbeat. Hey is it okay to say that Star Trek is the, uh, best movie ever? That's okay right? When I saw the trailers I thought, 'huh. star trek. okay. maybe i'll go see it.'

I saw it last Monday and I'm seeing it again in say, 18 hours. I WANT TO SEE IT NOW.

Tomorrow is going to rule so freaking hard. I'm finally getting my super-belated birthday present for myself (pictures to come), and then we'll see Star Trek again, then we'll go out to La Cocina for delicious Mexican foods. Too bad I won't be able to get righteously toasted. They have strawberry daiquiris as big as my head.

Anyway it's 1 AM and I just got finished with work and now I'm... bored. Damnit >:(

when i said, 'i hate what i've become', i lied
i hated who i was

I've seen new Star Trek twice and I'm going again today. I want to be seeing it right now. I want to be seeing it every five minutes.

Oh god I love the new Star Trek. I want to marry it.

I--I want to be seeing it right now. I want to be in the theatre and clapping quietly to myself everytime Spock does something cool. (so, clapping pretty much through the whole movie am i right!)

I want to marry it too. Can we just, can we be a big Star Trek harem? We can share! There's enough Star Trek for all of us!

I just saw it again and it is still amazing in every way! I totally clapped one million times for Spock being the best thing EVAR. Also, please to be falling in love with Kirk now, Spock. I am all over it.

Mmm, the harem of Star Trek. I'd be up for it.

Yeah I saw it again today and, wow, I just love it so much. It takes so much self-control to keep myself from squealing every other five minutes when Spock is on screen.

I really want to be reading some, uh, Kirk and Spock fanfictions now omg D: To a slash fangirl, it's like returning to the motherland! Although I will admit. I-- genuinely enjoyed the scenes with Spock and Uhura. I would willingly read fic in which Spock is having liaisons with Uhura while she's still technically his student. (He probably wouldn't do that. I don't care. I want to read it.)

I (drunkenly) said this to Nat tonight, "I can't tell which would be better. Kirk and Spock sharing Uhura... or Kirk and Uhura sharing Spock."

I never thought I would watch TOS, but I've downloaded a bunch of episodes and saw part of one where they were in jail and gotten hooked on the plot. (Damn you, Original Series!) But mostly I'm addicted to the TOR fandom which is just booming with all things awesome.

I want them to make a zine full of epic TOR Kirk/Spock stories. And then I want to roll around in it, like a dog.

The more I thought about it though the more the Spock/Uhura thing bothered me, just because they didn't write Uhura very well. She's pretty, and obviously cares for Spock, but her role in the entire movie is basically to hear something important but not report it, and then to ask Spock what he needs. Other than that she doesn't do anything. Kind of sad.

....but I will say I just love the idea of anyone loving Spock, and wanting to take care of him. Also, we need more mini!Spock. HE WAS SO CUTE.

I'm kind of downloading it now. Please don't tell anybody :( I mean, I doubt I'll love it as much as TOR but I'm curious. I just want to see what the big deal is!

And then I want to roll around in it, like a dog.

I want you to know: that made me sporfle soda. Then I quoted it at Nat from two rooms away.

Okay so yes. I agree with you on both points. Maybe she's not very well written. But the scenes in which she is important meant so much, and were so awesome, that I am willing to forgive. Also, ummm yeah, anyone who loves Spock and wants to take care of him is my BFF.

I want moar Spock in general ;_; Time to go see it again.

It's the kind of thing I can only watch one episode at a time followed by a big break. It's kind of insane, but still enjoyable. (Though I obviously prefer ST TOR.)

Ha ha, you and Nat. The idea that you share internet hijinks across an apartment amuses me endlessly.

Uhura-- yes. Anyone who loves Spock I can't help but like, but I still can't like her more than that because of how empty she was. Besides, I want MOAR KIRK/SPOCK.

BUT ELLE

WEIR AND CALDWELL ARE SO BANGIN' AND YOU KNOW IT

I was going to make inappropriate comments to further gross you out but I grossed myself out >_> Not that there is anything wrong with Weir/Caldwell, I just... no.

YOU SHOULD WATCH THE ORIGINAL SERIES OF STAR TREK, IT IS HILARIOUS. You will totally get more jokes in the movie if you watch the show. Also, I bet we could make a drinking game of how often Bones says I'M A DOCTOR NOT A _________ and/or HE'S DEAD, JIM. And when the redshirts die. And when Kirk wears the green shirt. And when Kirk's shirt gets ripped off. And when they drink. OH GOD WE'D DIE OF ALCOHOL POISONING

*GAGS*

No, yeah...I know that. Technically. It's not like I'm grossed out by grownups banging, oh man I can't explain it. I just don't want THEM banging. Besides, Caldwell is SKINNER in another life, so I do have love for him... just, yeah I don't want to see him getting laid. My love is platonic.

Dude did you know there's an episode of the X-Files where Skinner bangs this blonde chick played by Amanda Tapping? CROSSOVER TIMES. *shudder* I had to look away, it was too creepy.

I WOULD PLAY THAT DRINKING GAME WITH YOU EVEN IF WE GOT ALCOHOL POISONING. IT WOULD BE GLORIOUS.

WE TOTES HAVE TO PLAY IT, DUDE. MAINLINING TOS AND DRINKING JACK&COKE. OR JUST SHOTS WHATEV.

I need to get a ST icon all up in this account.

Star Trek was AWESOME!!!!!

I loved it and so did Ray. I was much like you, though. I didn't know much other then the bald guy (Picard) was captian now. I actually asked Ray, "Wasn't the Enterprise like, the last ship to survive Earth or something?" and he just stared and claimed to want a divorce.

I'd see i again and again if we had the money ; ;
